Santorini was a dream come true – lots of good sun and breathtaking views, countless and endless photo spots and really nice food!

Getting there

Transited in Athens from Milos and then arrived at Santorini via Aegan Air. The total journey was about 3 hours long including transit :) I think the best way to get from one island to another is by ferry but since it was off peak we couldn't prebook the ferries so we decided to go by air. If you're visiting during the peak periods please opt for ferry as it is a lot cheaper and probably faster too!

We took a taxi from the airport to our Airbnb which was a little more pricey @ €25 for a short drive!

Accommodation & getting around
We stayed in an apartment very close to the main street of Fira. Lots of food and shops around! It was also a ~5 min walk away from the bus centre which takes you to most parts of Santorini!

If you're more adventurous, you can just rent an ATV and get around the entire island via that! You can also rent a car if you have more pax :)

We decided to go w the bus because of the same reasons, left hand drive + manual was a no for us hahaha

Link to my airbnb here.

This is a two room apartment with a roof terrace and a roomy kitchen and living space! I definitely recommend this accommodation if you have 4 pax!

Day 1

After checking in, we walked around to get familiarised and went to watch the sunset at V Lounge Cafe. I honestly think there is no need to sit at any of the cafes there to watch the sunset as the views from the pathway was already as amazing.

Day 2

We hiked from Fira to Oia which took around 3-4 hours! This excludes the (non-stop) photo taking on the way there hahah the views were super super good!

The second half of the hike was very rocky so note to wear proper footwear! An alternative would be to take the bus from Fira to Oia which only costs €1.80/person! We took the bus back when we left around 630pm! (the buses in Santorini are pay-on-the-bus type)

Oia was a lot more crowded than Fira, lots of shops and tourists and people taking their pre wedding photos!

This is apparently one of the top places to watch the sunset in the world! I personally prefer watching the sunset in a quieter and more private setting so i wouldn't say this is on the top of my list even though the sunset was realllly pretty. Just imagine being surrounded by a sea of tourists shouting, doesn't sound too dreamy does it!

Ofc if you manage to get a seat at one of the cafes facing the sunset or if you're staying in the pool villas w a view, this wouldn't be a problem for you and might just be the best sunset you'll ever see :')

Day 3

We took a bus to Kamari Black Sand Beach timetable here. Also costed €1.80/person!

There are some restaurants here where you can have lunch by the beach! We spent the first half of our day here watching the waves and enjoying the view.

We took the bus back to Fira to have lunch and then headed to Red Beach! I didn't really like Red Beach but i didn't go all the way down as well so i'm probably not the best judge. Don't really have pictures here!

Day 4

We decided to go back to Oia to explore Amoudi bay!

It was a 300 step long hike down (everyday in santorini was legs day)

We had great seafood by the bay for lunch and then took a slow climb back up. It was truly tiring but opting for the donkey ride up would've been cruel + smelly HAHA

We spent the rest of the day chilling and having dessert with the Oia view and left before the sunset so we didn't have to squeeze w the crowd in the bus! We watched the sunset back in Fira and had our new fav foods: Gyros and Falafel for dinner :')

Santorini > Mykonos in my next post :)

Getting there

We took a flight from Athens to Milos via Aegan Air which was only 25 minutes long! It was just a tiny propeller plane which seated around 50 passengers. From the Milos Airport, we took a taxi to our airbnb which was 7 minutes away and costed €15.

Accommodation & getting around

As the island was so so quiet due to the non-peak season, we booked a hotel which was nearer to the city centre Adamas which made it more convenient for us to walk over (6 mins) to take a taxi. The more popular way of getting around is definitely to rent a car but 1. it is left hand drive and 2. the cars are manual so we went with taxis the entire trip.

Link to my hotel here. *I don't 100% recommend this hotel because it just wasn't the BEST and nicest but still very affordable and o-k-a-y i guess. It was a true struggle to find a good accommodation in Milos but i think it wouldn't be a problem to book an Airbnb if you decide to rent a car!

City Centre Adamas

There are a number of restaurants, shops and supermarkets at the City Centre in Milos Island. One thing to note is that the shops' opening hours are pretty odd: they opened from eg. 10am-1pm and 5pm onwards. Apparently the culture there is to spend time with their families in the day and then work in the morning and at night. Adamas is also the go-to place to get a taxi to get around the island!

Day 1

After checking in and settling down, we took a taxi over to Klima Beach.

Getting there
It was ~15 min Taxi ride from Adamas and costed €18-20!

Klima is so so beautiful. It's actually a a stretch of 'Syrmata' which are fisherman houses! It was really quiet when i visited and we stayed for the sunset which was definitely one of the best ones i experienced in my life :')

Day 2

Literally waited for THIS DAY the entire few months of planning! Day 2 was spend in Sarakiniko Beach!

Getting there
It was ~15 min Taxi ride from the hotel and costed €10!

Sarakiniko was truly a glimpse of my dreams – the biggest blue sea, the best weather and the warm sun that didn't leave us with a burn :')

We spent half a day here just soaking it in and exploring. The are no showers or toilets there so if you want to go into the water at the beach you can but bring a towel!

We headed over to Paliochori Beach for dinner and sunset! This was also another very calm and quiet pebble beach. We ate fresh seafood at Sirocco Restaurant which i highly recommend.  The food was good and apparently cooked in hot sand!

Milos > Santorini in my next post! x
